Skin Therapy Rich Moisturiser 150ml 98p (from Wilkinson) here

 Having tried several facial moisturisers I decided to test this 98p version from wilkos. I wasn't expecting much from this at 98p but was pleasantly surprised. It is pH balanced, fragrance and allergen free and dermatologically tested so it begins on a plus.

The description of 'rich moisturiser' may be slightly misleading as it isn't massively thick but it is quite oily so may not be suitable for those with really oily skin. You only need a little bit so with twice daily (well mostly...) uses it lasts several months. It's not the most appealing packaging or product but it does the job.

It is a great long lasting moisturiser that leaves my skin soft all day and feeling fresh. As it's fragrance free it doesn't  leave any aroma on the skin that you can smell at all. It also absorbs really well into the skin quickly but still leaving the skin supple and moisturised. 

For 98p it is definitely worth a look and try and it is my new daily moisturiser!

Collection (2000) Lasting Perfection Foundation Review

Having read mixed reviews on this foundation I decided to test it for myself. Being a student, long wearing foundation is definitely a necessity as I am up too early in the morning and up too late at night... This foundation claims to last 16 hours, have SPF 20 and be oil free. I have the shade Ivory 2.

Obviously it is rare to have a foundation that lasts as long as it claims too and this is no exception. On a good day with a primer this may last 7 hours? This colour is a pretty good match for me between summer and winter times as its too light for me in height of summer and too dark in deep winter. However, the darker shades become just orange and the lighter shade is hard to get hold of. 

I found this foundation really drying and clingy on the skin and definitely made me look cakey and strange. I can't seem to apply it correctly no mater how and even if I mix it with a moisturiser it still looks pretty cakey. It does have medium coverage but some marks on my skin do come through, although I like the natural look it makes it look less natural and it makes everything look darker.

The only reasonable successful way of applying it I found was mixed 7:3 (moisturiser:foundation) and applied pretty lightly with a sponge. It leaves my skin still feeling dry and it clings to blemishes and any dry areas I have. I have rarely worn this foundation out of the house as I find it just looks too bad before I even leave, I have read it oxidises sometimes so may get even darker throughout the day. 

I wouldn't recommend this foundation and I certainly won't be repurchasing it again. This foundation is the exact same consistency as the much-hyped concealer and this is not a good thing. Such as shame as I love Collection 2000 for its quality and pricing!

Boots Mango Body Butter Review

Boots Extracts Mango Body Butter 200ml £8.00

Having tried a couple of products from this range, I was expecting a fab smelling but poor acting product. However, this smells amazing and is a great moisturiser.

The smell is a definitely stand out from other products and is addictive but it is not overpowering. It lingers a while on the skin but does dissipate leaving a faint sweet scent. However, if your not keen on fruity smells, this is not for you as it is pretty strong! The mixture is very thick and creamy and lasts an age! It is easy to scoop out and is not oily or watery at all compared to some 'butters' I have used. When rubbing into the skin, it absorbs pretty quickly but does leave the skin moisturised and soft. This is pretty good as I am often in a rush and absorbing quickly is vital in dressing without getting clothes greasy.

 I'm not sure its ability is worth £8.00 personally for me as I don't have uber dry skin. But if you have dry skin this could be amazing for you. You get a pretty decent amount of product and no matter how much you use, there's still loads left in the tub.

First Impressions: Superdrug Deep Action Daily Exfoliating Wash

 Being a fan (when my skin agrees) of the deep action cleanser I decided to try some some of the other products in the range and began with this. My last facial exfoliator wash from Olay kept my skin quite smooth but I wasn't really getting any results so I was expecting a lot from this due to the cleanser. 

This is defiantly not as strong as the cleanser which is good as it feels less like paint stripper and more like a skin friendly product. It has small clear beads and larger blue beads that seem to pop when used and leave small blue streaks.

 I use this night to wash off the days grime in my shower. I have definitely noticed a difference in my skin since using this, it has reduced my blackheads and spots around my nose and has smoothed my skin whilst leaving me refreshed. I'm so glad this wasn't quite as strong as the cleanser and this is definitely more friendly to skin.

Avon Naturals vanilla moisturising body whip

I have this product in vanilla, I don't think it can still be bought in vanilla or if it was just a seasonal buy as I got it at Christmas, but the product and formula is still available. 

Having tried body butters and many moisturisers I was interested in what a 'body whip' would be like. It is definitely different from other moisturisers I have used in the past as the consistency does seem 'whipped', it feels like a really thick whipped cream. It does feel quite oily and slimy and from experience I was expecting it to leave a film on the skin. However, this had the complete opposite effect and left basically no moisture in my skin at all. From the picture you can see I've used about half the pot and I'm not sure how. I don't have particularly dry skin but I would need a LOT of this on a small area to make the skin feel as moisturised as I would like. 

The smell is good (but not currently available) but this won't make me keep using this as it seems quite pointless on my skin. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the formula or me but I do find when I have gone back to this I have had to mix it back together as it keeps separating after just a few weeks.

Body Lotion: Superdrug Vs Avon Review

Superdrug Body Lotion with Aloe Vera 375ml £1.59

After my last Avon body lotion ran out I took a look around the local shops to see if there was a lotion that compared to it and at a good price. I finally decided on the Superdrug Body Lotion with Aloee Vera after seeing some good online reviews.

The Avon body lotion smelt good and lasted an AGE. As quite a lazy moisturiser applier it left me feeling moisturised for a couple of days before I would feel I would need to moisturise again. The consistency was also quite thick so it was easy to control and use the correct amount. I wasn't too keen on the fact the bottle was still quite full when no more would come out and the bottle was too thick to cut open but this probably could still be fixed. I have a local avon representative so it isn't too difficult to get hold of but not too easy either.

I then decided a change of product might do some good so I tried the cheaper and (nearly) same volume product from Superdrug. It doesn't smell really of anything and is very quickly absorbed into the skin. This is quite good as I'm often in a rush and this means clothes won't get greasy. However, even just an hour after application I found my legs didn't look or feel any different than before moisturising and I would want to apply it again. Ithought maybe this is because I hadn't put it on enough or another reason but after consistent use I still find it unmoisturising for any period of time. The solution is quite runny and it has often split as it comes out of the bottle before it is at 90 degrees. 

More searching I think for budget lotions, comment any suggestions to try!

Boots Mango sugar scrub Review

Boots Mango Sugar Scrub 400ml £8.00

At £8.00, this product is quite expensive for me for an exfoliating scrub. First of all, the product smells amazing! The smell is so refreshing and revitalising but the product......not so much. For £8.00 I expected a lot from this product but got not a lot. It does have a good amount of 'scrub' in it with the sugar particles and you get a decent amount for the money but the product is not the easiest to use. 

I rarely ever have baths, just showers so this product probably wasn't the easiest choice for shower usage as the water settles on the top and changes the consistently slightly. It is really hard to wash off after and even days after I keep finding lumps of it in the bathroom on the walls? I don't know how but it was there. It leaves a greasy film on your legs without washing for ages after to get rid of it. I did find it reasonably good for sunburn as it was really scruby but it did take an age to get rid of it. 

I will deifnately not be buying this again and will be scouring the High Street for an alterative thats better and more budget friendly. My previous exfoliator from I love was far better and cheaper so I know they exsist. I have used the body wash and body butter of this range and both are pretty decent but I wouldn't repurchase them. 

Any recommendations of Budget scrubs are welcome!

Boots Coconut & Almond Intensive Hair Mask

With long uncontrollable hair, I am constantly on the lookout for products to help tame and nourish it. I discovered this Boots hair mask that smells incredible at an excellent price! Having hair products smelling good is quite important to me as with lots of hair the scent often lingers for longer so better smelling products or unscented are more likely to be used by me.

The product has a strange consistency (sorry for no picture, this container is near empty and I haven't been able to get out to buy another one yet) as it has a shiny finish but isn't a solid consistent colour. This sounds a strange description but it reminds me of molten silver, small aspects of solid silver change the shiny finish of it. It states to use this after shampooing before conditioning but I find this doesn't work best for me so I put the mask on after conditioning and wear it for 20 minutes around the house before washing it off. This gives it extra time to work its magic and I feel this means it works better.

It left my hair softer and more manageable than before but I have found that with regular use, the affect is less strong so I haven't been using it every hair wash but every few. This also extends the amount of time the container lasts. Another point is that very little of this is needed to cover a large area.

For those of you who dislike a strong smell, when in the hair the smell is less overpowering but has a scent if sniffed....

I always have some of this around and definitely recommend you try this (at a full price of £1.99 its easy just to try even as a normal conditioner).

I was recently searching for a new cleanser and discovered this Superdrug Cleansing lotion that 'fights spots and blackheads.' plus 'Tightens pores for clearer skin' and 'to have results from day 1'. These claims definitely grabbed my attention for a budget product!

The first week of use is definitely noticeable in the sense that you can feel your skin tingling (sometimes stinging) and tightening, reacting to the new product. If you have really sensitive skin, I would be wary of using this as it is a very strong solution. The Alcohol and Salicylic acid definately has an affect. I wouldn't say results are visible from day 1 but the results are visible after about 1 to 2 weeks. After using this product I have barely ever broken out except for the odd single spot here and there.

It seems to have cleared all my blocked pores and most blackheads. The stinging sensation decreases over time but I definately need to moisturise after to reduce the sensation and help my skin.

 This cleanser is definitely better than previous and more expensive cleansers I have used and is often on sale in Superdrug. However, sometimes its reactions on my skin make me think that maybe its not always doing good? I would definitely recommend you try this IF you don't have overly sensitive skin as it is a great product.
